"Here are some upcoming events that make New London a great city to visit, and Antiques With Inn a wonderful place to stay" . . .

Friday-Saturday October 5-6, our local theatrical troupe presents Neil Simon's "I Ought to Be In Pictures."  It's a funny, touching story concerning father-daughter relationships...intended for a mature audience.  Info and tickets 920-982-6060, or click on Inn Packages.

Autumn is a fine time to enjoy the rivers of New London. Both the Wolf and the Embarrass Rivers flow through downtown New London, offering enjoyable boating and fishing. There are several boat landings near Antiques With Inn. Bring your fishing gear, and drop your anchor in New London! Non-boaters? You may enjoy our rivers from walkways alongside them.

A two-day snowshoe lacing workshop with complete instruction and supplies will be held at Mosquito Hill Nature Center on Saturday & Sunday November 3 & 4.  Naturalist Mike Hibbard will show you how to make your own 10"x56" Alaskan-style snowshoes.  The class goes from 8:30 - 4pm both days, and registration is necessary in order to insure supplies.

Cost: $150/person. Call 920-779-6433 or email swifkamk@co.outagamie.wi.us or click on Inn Packages.

Looking for a few days away from Wisconsin? Check my link to the Golden Sunset in sunny Negril, Jamaica.  Randy and I have been guests at this lovely small resort many times, and we are happy to help you plan a short getaway or a month's vacation. Jamaica's tropical climate is most enjoyable during the months of December thru May. The Golden Sunset is adorable, affordable, and easily accessible! Set up a date with me to learn more about our favorite spot in the Caribbean.  Photos, tour info and more.

Sunday October 14, 2007: Mosquito Hill presents Black Bear Biology 101!  Scott Anderson, a wildlife biologist with the Chequamegon National Forest, has been involved in black bear research for 15 years, studying the animal in northern Wisconsin.  This interesting presentation will teach us why black bears are one of the most unique animals that inhabit the north woods of our state!

Cost: $3/Adults $2/Students Registration is appreciated. Call 920-779-6433 or email swifkamk@co.outagamie.wi.us

Anytime is a fine time to book an overnight or weekend at Antiques With Inn. Bring someone you like to spend time with, or simply treat yourself. Arrive early in the day, take a walk following your innkeeper's walking routes, or simply relax doing absolutely nothing. Ahhh...nothing is more pleasant than an afternoon nap in a beautiful four-poster bed! Enjoy a delicious dinner at one of New London's great eateries. Top the evening off doing what you like best: visiting New London's night spots, or snuggling up by the fireside, back at the Inn, with a book or a glass of wine.

The New London Public Museum recently completed a year-long research project that has resulted in our very own Historic Homes Walk. A little book has been published containing the description of each home, with pen and ink drawings by New London artist, Henry Miles. The book is designed to guide walkers to each of the 16 homes, all of which are situated within a few blocks of each other. Stop in at Antiques With Inn to purchase a souvenir book for only $1.

Overnight packages are created by your desires and my connections. Just a few ideas are: therapeutic massage in a physical therapy assistant's home studio, tours of a few very special gardens, root beer parties, Wolf River boating, hiking local glacier remains, Mary Kay foot massage, antiquing in a 15-mile radius of the Inn, popcorn and movie overnights, mending bees, golfing...

Contact us for details.

Remember to check back every few weeks to read the upcoming events. The next update will include some of my ideas for "Inning your way around Wisconsin".
